Besides exploring the machines of the future, I am also influenced by geopolitical issues, and sometimes use my work to reflect these complicated and controversial issues. Wars and politics are things that exist in this world, and even looking into the future they are guaranteed to stick around. While we might aim for a world peace, the truth is that there will always be disagreements between people, and the differing views of nations often times come to violent resolution.

Some references to what types of science fiction has inspired me in the past are "Dune" by Frank Herbert, "Enders Game" by Orson Scott Card and "Eon" by Greg Bear. There are many others that I also enjoy, which have fantastical ideas of what science can bring to mankind both for its good, as well as destructive weapons that could devastate entire planets. As a person who likes to tinker on cars and motorcycles, I tend to seek the ideas that involve propulsion theories and how we can come closer to reaching a zero loss of efficiency in energy consumption. I try to imagine the motors that would drive spacecraft, and build the idea in a physical manifestation. Though generally my ideas are only theoretical mockups that have no function, I hope to build working models in that can at least convey the ideas of the motion and mechanics involved in the concepts that have been imagined.

Looking at the possibilities

When I am looking for inspiration, I often read a science fiction novel and think about how those technologies would look like if they existed today. There are a lot of theoretical machines that I would love to explore.
